This is a video how to make a fondant ruffle cake for Mother’s Day (or any other occasion). If you decide to have the ruffles of different colors I suggest you prepare these a day ahead and store it in an airtight container. For this cake (17cm/7 inch) I used 4 different shades of pink. Each fondant weighed about 60 grams. To cover the whole cake you will need about 350g of white fondant.
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY can be written using melted chocolate, butter cream frosting, or simple cut letters out of the fondant using letter cutters. There are also various alphabet tappit sets that you can buy out there. I used alphabet letters mold.
