Banana Toast with Ricotta and Chocolate
Banana toast with ricotta and chocolate is a creamy, crunchy, naturally sweet breakfast or snack, ready in minutes and perfect for busy mornings.

Ingredients
- 4 slices toast bread (see note 1)
- 2 ounces dark chocolate (70% cocoa content, 60 grams), see note 2
- 1 cup ricotta (250 grams), see note 3
- 2 teaspoons honey or to taste
- 2 bananas (sliced)
- 4 teaspoons mixed seeds , see note 4
Instructions
- Toast the bread to your liking.
- Meanwhile, melt the chocolate in a microwave (or in a bowl over a pot of simmering water). Mix ricotta with honey.
- Spread melted chocolate over each toast, top with sweetened ricotta, sliced banana and seeds.
Notes
- You can use either white or whole-wheat bread.
- You can use chocolate with less cocoa content. Or substitute with chocolate hazelnut spread.
- Ricotta can be substituted with cottage cheese. If you use cottage cheese, I recommend whipping it with honey.
- Seeds can be substituted with nuts (hazelnuts, walnuts or pecans are tasty options).
- Optional: top with chocolate shavings.
- You can easily scale this down to 1 portion if you like.
- Instead of melting dark chocolate, you can grate it over the toast.
