Create a simple Halloween charcuterie board with a variety of cheeses, meats and fruits. It’s easily customizable to everyone’s liking and perfect for any Halloween party!

A tasty centerpiece that will quickly disappear from your table!
How to make Halloween charcuterie board
Ingredients list:
- Camembert
- Dark jam
- Dried apricots
- Old Amsterdam – Feel free to use any cheese you like! Cheddar, brie, …
- Salami – Use any kind you like, preferably thinly sliced from a Deli counter.
- Grapes
- Fresh figs – it could also be dried ones.
- Pepitas
- Sugar eyes – optional.
- Crackers – Any dry crackers will work just fine or slice fresh French baguette and serve it alongside some bread dipping oil!
Tools you will need:
- Cutting board & knife – to cut the camembert and other cheese you use.
- Measuring cups – These are not necessary. You can easily just eyeball the ingredients or literally use as much/as little as you like.
- Small spoon
- Serving platter, chopping board or tray – Anything that can hold your charcuterie selection. Here I used a 10-inch (26-centimeter) wide round serving board.
Arranging the ingredients on your chosen serving tray can be done any way you like. The only important step here is prepping the camembert and positioning it first on the board.
Then, arrange the rest of the ingredients to your liking and finally fill the eyes and mouth with jam. Do this at the very end or right before serving.
This party snack platter will be good for 2-3 hours at room temperature.
Extra tips
- If you use a larger serving platter/board, you will need to use more ingredients to fill it up.
- Do you have Halloween-themed cookie cutters? Well, why not use them to cut some sliced cheese with them. Either top some crackers with them or serve as is on the platter. They make great Halloween snacks as well.
- To get the maximum freshness, prep all the ingredients and keep them in an airtight container in the fridge. Assemble shortly before serving. It takes minutes.
- Filling the camembert with jam before serving will reduce the chance of jam seeping out or into the cheese. Depending on how long it sits filled, it can discolor the areas around the cut-out parts. Now, please know that I have also made this in advance and kept it in the fridge for 5-6 hours and it looked great, so it is not always the issue. Either way, it is best to add the jam right before you want to assemble the charcuterie board.
- When it comes to ingredients – feel free to use anything you like. If you don’t like pepitas, use nuts (cashews, pistachios or almonds are great options). Instead of salami, use Italian prosciutto…
- The camembert is also delicious when baked in the oven. The Jack Skellington face does change though.

Halloween Charcuterie Board
Ingredients
- 1 round camembert (8 ounces/240 grams)
- 1 cup mixed grapes , see note 1
- ½ cup dried apricots
- 4-5 figs , halved and quartered
- ¼ cup pepitas , see note 2
- 7 ounces Old Amsterdam cheese (200 grams), see note 3
- 3 ounces salami , thinly sliced, see note 4
- crackers , see note 5
- 2 tablespoons dark jam , see note
- tiny sugar eyes , optional
Instructions
- Start off by preparing the camembert. I find that the easiest way is to cut off the rind, about half an inch (1.5 centimeters) from top. Place it onto a baking parchment or the paper the camembert was wrapped in, rind side up. Use the wide side of a piping tip and a paring knife to cut out eyes. Now, take the holes as a guide to cut out larger eyes. Next, cut out the nostrils and mouth. When done, place the top part back on the bottom part of the cheese.
- Place the camembert onto a 10-inch (26-centimeter) serving tray/cutting board and start arranging the rest of the ingredients around. I recommend starting with large items first, so you can visualize how much space you have left for the other items. Leave grapes on the vine, but make sure to wash and pat them dry.
- Fill any gaps with pepitas. Salami is also good for filling gaps or around the edges.
- When everything is assembled, using a small spoon, fill the cavities on the camembert with jam and add sugar eyes to fig halves.
- Serve right away for the freshest experience (or, see note…).
Notes
- Any kind of jam will work. It could be blueberry or blackberry. Possibly without whole pieces in it.
- Pepitas = pumpkin seeds. They can be substituted with nuts of your choice.
- Use any cheese you like!
- Thinly sliced salami from a deli counter is a great choice!
- Serve it with crackers of your choice or sliced fresh French baguette.
- Note that this appetizer can feed somewhere between 4 to 6 people. This will depend on many factors: whether you are serving other appetizers along this one, is it a before dinner or after dinner snack, …
- You can make it ahead by prepping all the ingredients and assembling right before the party. Or, prepping the camembert (minus the jam), refrigerating (in an airtight container) and assembling the rest later. Or, prepping and assembling everything together, covering with plastic wrap and refrigerating before serving. Whatever you do, always add the jam right before serving!
