This peanut butter hot chocolate ready in less than 10 minutes! No need for a blender or a crock pot. Just a sauce pan and stove top!

Hot chocolate is my favorite winter drink. What I love about making hot chocolate at home is the fact that you can make it the way you like it. You can use the ingredients you love or omit the ones you don’t.

I have always fun creating homemade hot chocolate recipes. There are so many great flavors out there! When the Holiday season approaches I start making Gingerbread Hot Chocolate or Dulce de Leche Hot Chocolate.

If you are looking for a healthier option, try Turmeric Hot Chocolate! It has anti-inflammatory properties.

Start off by heating up the milk until hot. Then I turn off the heat and add the cocoa powder and peanut butter and stir this around until well combined.

This is the basic peanut butter hot chocolate recipe. Now to add a little sweetness to it I added maple syrup. If you don’t have it, use a sweetener of your choice (Honey, coconut or brown sugar, …).

Don’t forget to taste it at this stage. Everyone is different so what is sweet to me might not be to you so adjust the amount of sweetener to your liking.

To make this peanut butter hot chocolate richer I also topped it with whipped cream. You don’t have to but I tell you it tastes amazing with the cream.

What peanut butter to use for this hot chocolate drink?

I recommend using the creamy one and not the one with crunchy bits. As for the brand – use the one you love most or you buy regularly.

Toppings:

Top this peanut butter hot chocolate with anything you like. I used Reese’s nut bar that I chopped into smaller pieces. Now you can use Reese’s peanut butter cups or a dollop of peanut butter if that is what you prefer.

Chopped peanuts are also a great choice.

Caramel sauce, chocolate sauce, chocolate shavings, sprinkles or marshmallows will all work well. The options are limitless.
