This is the ultimate breakfast for people on the go! Naturally sweet blueberry coffee breakfast smoothie is a quick and tasty way to start your day!
Now this is also a gluten free smoothie, dairy free, free from refined sugar and vegan! However, if you love quick breakfast and love cow’s milk, then go ahead and use that one!
Coffee breakfast smoothie has been our breakfast food for the past 2 months. Every single day we start with a cup of this deliciousness. Ok, maybe 6 out of 7 days.
We love the flavor combo, the quick preparation and the instant energy boost it gives us. Coffee breakfast smoothie is exactly what we need in the morning.
Now depending on what we have in the pantry and how active our morning is we change the quantities and add more nutrient rich and energy boosting ingredients. Sometimes we add bananas in, sometimes blueberries.
Blueberries are one of the superfoods and no wonder! The health benefits of blueberries are amazing! Not only are they one of the most nutrient-dense fruits out there but they help our brain function better, support digestion, help maintain healthy skin, ….
Plus they go so well with coffee!
However, if you feel like blueberry coffee breakfast smoothie does not excite you much, try making another easy-peasy blender smoothie such as Raspberry Smoothie, Banana Breakfast Smoothie, Energy Boosting Smoothie with Papaya or this Blueberry Smoothie.

i’m looking for ideas on a coffee blueberry (drink) and am wondering how this recipe will turn out… looks like it will be hard to drink without a spoon… wutdya’ think?
Julia | Happy Foods Tube says
Hi Jerry. All our smoothies are designed for drinking, not eating with a spoon. That being said, if you let them sit in the fridge, they will thicken up. Also, if you like a thinner texture, you can add more almond milk (or normal milk). Hope this helps.

I was a bit skeptical about this recipe at first, especially for someone who doesn’t drink coffee but I made it and love it!
I used what I had on hand: cows milk instead of almond milk and 1 small banana instead of blueberries and didn’t use any dates.
Thanks for the recipe it’s going to be my go-to smoothie now.

We have a few questions regarding substitue ingredients:
If we substitute honey for the dates, how much honey should be used?
Can yogurt be used instead of milk?
Could fresh Bing Cherries be used in this smoothie as a substitute for the Blueberries?
I’ve tried the Mango Kale and Mango Apricot smoothie. When I made the Mango Apricot smoothie I also put in a small amount of Kale and it was delightful.
Thank you.
Julia | Happy Foods Tube says
Hi Lori. The quantity of honey will depend on your taste. I would maybe start with two teaspoons of honey and taste it. If not sweet enough for you, add more. You can try using natural yogurt (or Greek yogurt) just note it will turn out thicker. If you prefer using cherries, then I suggest you try it! Like I have said, it will all depend on your taste whether you like it or not but it is worth giving a go! Hope you enjoy it. :)
